Beatriz F. Mohler passed away peacefully in her home on August 20, 2026. She was 96 years old and is survived by her husband, Dr. Stephen Mohler; her daughter, Gloria; her son Michael; her daughter-in-law Denise; and her four grandchildren: Andrew, Jacob, Jonathan, and Alexander, and her sister, Edelmira Marron. She is predeceased by her parents, her eldest son Glen, and her daughter-in-law Heather Pratt.

Bea spent her preschool years in Northern Spain; her grade-school years in Havana, Cuba; and the rest her life in the United States. She holds an M.A. in Spanish Literature from George Washington University, where she met her husband, Steve.

She began her career as a multilingual editor for the Pan American Union’s Department of Cultural Affairs in Washington, DC, and taught Spanish courses at the University of Tennessee at Martin later in life. After retirement, Bea and Steve traveled extensively throughout the world, visiting some 81 countries, mostly on cruise ships.
They moved to Martin in 1976 and have been members of the First United Methodist Church since then. Before that, they lived in Greensboro, NC, and the Washington, DC area. She was an excellent wife, mother, teacher, and friend. She was a blessing from God and will be missed. May she rest in peace.

Visitation will be at Murphy Funeral Home in our funeral chapel on August 28, 2026, from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M.
Graveside services will be on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 11:00 in Bartlett at Memphis Memorial Gardens.
