Betty Jane Overton McDaniel, age 92, a resident of Greenfield, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, after an extended illness. Born on February 10, 1934, in Greenfield, TN, to the late Raymond and Mary Abney Overton. She was the widow of the late Casey Edward McDaniel.

Betty Jane retired after 30 years as a seamstress at Wormser in Sharon, TN, and was a devoted homemaker. She was known for steady hands and quiet strength. and the care she gave to her family and friends. Her life was defined by kindness, a strong work ethic, and deep devotion to those she loved.

Mrs. McDaniel is survived by two of her children, Danny Joe (Annette) McDaniel, and Greg McDaniel; eight grandchildren, Crystal Oliver, Melissa (Mike) Johnson, Casey (Valorie) Oliver, Shandi Damron, Josh (Candace) McDaniel, Casey McDaniel, Dylan McDaniel, and Lindsey (James) Phelps; eleven great-grandchildren, Haley (Ashlee) Arnold, Hayden Oliver, Brennen Cobb, Laurin Cobb, Tatum Oliver, Tanner Oliver, Taylor Oliver, Nash Daly, Rosie McDaniel, Desi Phelps, and DJ Phelps.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Casey Edward McDaniel; two children, Vicki McDaniel Jackson and Jeff McDaniel; four siblings, Basil Overton, Gene Overton, Stella Overton Swindell, and Marth Overton Priestly.
