Bob Peeler

September 6, 1931 — April 14, 2019

Mr. Bobby J. Peeler, former Martin City Alderman and City of Martin Mayor,  died Sunday, April 14, 2019, at his residence.  Mr. Peeler was 87 years old.  

Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 17, 2019, 1:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Cooper officiating.  Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the church until funeral time.

Pallbearers are Bubba Kelly, Richard Kelly, Jim Cannon, Conner Simpson, Mike Wilson and Bill Zarecor.  Honorary Pallbearers are Wayne Chester, Paul Kelly, Greg Moore, Chris Moore, Cris Legens, Burruss Nichols, Huey Claybrook and Don Smith.

Mr. Peeler is survived by his wife, Janiece Crockett Peeler; his daughter, Pam Lester both of Martin; his son, Jon (Vickie) Peeler of Goodletsville, TN; three grandchildren, Lauren (Caleb) Smith, Madeline Peeler and Rachel Lester (John Thomas) Bell.

Mr. Peeler was a pharmacist and owned and operated Village Pharmacy in Martin.  He proudly graduated from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) School of Pharmacy.  He was former President of the Jackson, Tennessee and Tupelo, Mississippi Jaycees Club.  Mr. Peeler was honored to be named "Outstanding Young Man of the Year" for Jackson Madison County.   He attended both the First United Methodist Church and First Baptist Church in Martin.  He was a veteran; U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Peeler and Durell Wright Peeler; brothers, Donald Peeler and Robert Neil (Tincy) Peeler.
