Mr Carl David Grimes, age 85, of Martin TN, formerly of Waverly TN, died Saturday, 01/26/2013, at VanAyer Manor Nursing & Rehab Center.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 02/02/2013, at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, Waverly, TN, with burial to follow at Richlawn Cemetery, Waverly TN. Visitation will be Friday, 02/01/2013, between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church, Waverly, TN. Visitation on Saturday will be after 10:00 AM until service time.
Mr Grimes was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waverly, TN; he was a graduate of University of Tennessee at Martin; he was a former UT Extension Agent, of Humphreys County, TN; he was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Mr Grimes is survived by two sons, Bud (Virginia) Grimes, Martin TN, and Jimmy Grimes(Vanessa) Nashville, TN; four grandchildren, Mackenzie Grimes, Sydney Grimes, Ashley Grimes, and Wesley Grimes; two step grandchildren, Jacqueline and Victoria Pitts; two brothers, Jerry and Fariss Grimes, both of Mt. Pleasant TN.
Mr Grimes was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Stallings Grimes; and his parents, Mumford Lewis & Mildred Parks Grimes.
Memorials can be made at the church or charity of your choice. Or, you can choose from among the following:
Building Funds at First United Methodist Church in Martin or Waverly (Tenn.)
A Shriners Hospital for Children of your choice.
The Elmer Counce Memorial Scholarship at UT Martin.
