Mr. David Wayne Pate, age 82, and a resident of Dresden, TN, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Hillview Community Living Center in Dresden, TN.

Mr. Pate was born in Latham, TN, on September 27, 1943, to the late Jess Pate and Janie Brewer.
He was of the Baptist faith, a retired Dairy Farmer for several different companies throughout his life. 
David had an avid love for fishing, squirrel hunting, and spending time with his family.

Mr. Pate is survived by six of his children; Marlo (Chris) Pate of Union City, TN, Joyce (Chris) Carter of Newbern, TN, Daphne Pate of Yorkville, TN, Brian Pate of Knoxville, TN, Kathy (Bruce) Cerny of Ocala, FL, and Cara I'Barra of Dyersburg, TN, twenty-one grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Manus Pate; two children, Margo Pate and Rebecca Pate; six siblings, Gene Pate, Edward Pate, Tommy Pate, Bobby Pate, Mary Clark, Faye Pate, and Virginia Pate.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at our Funeral Chapel at Murphy Funeral Home.
Bro. Ronny Glisson will officiate the service.
Graveside services will follow at 11:00 am at Pleasant View Baptist Cemetery in Latham, TN.

Active Pallbearers will be:
James Fallis, Jeremy Bishop, Andrew Bishop, Austin Pettie, B.J Pate Jr., and Aiden Bishop.

And those serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be:
Chris Carter and Chris Fallis.
