Dr. William Lloyd Duncan Sr., age 94, a resident of Martin, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026, at his residence.
He was born December 28, 1931, to the late James Thomas Duncan Sr. and Rebecca Irene Baker Duncan in Memphis, TN.

Dr. Duncan earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University and attended medical school at the University of Tennessee. He served in the United States Navy and retired as a general surgeon, after many years of practice and thousands of surgeries in Martin, TN.

He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Paige Duncan Byars (David) of Martin, TN; one daughter-in-law, Tia Duncan of Rio Rico, AZ; three granddaughters, Rebecca Lund Rhodes (Boomer) of Union City, TN, Amanda Lund Brown (Boone) of Martin, TN, and Sarah Elizabeth Byars of Martin, TN; and two great-grandchildren, Emmett Rhodes of Union City, TN and Harris Rhodes of Union City, TN.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Patsy Duncan; one son, William Lloyd Duncan Jr.; three brothers, James Thomas Duncan Jr., Howard Eugene Duncan, and Donald Lee Duncan; and one sister, Mary Jo Wilcox.

Memorial visitation will be on Sunday, August 2, 2026, beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service at First United Methodist Church in Martin.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at First United Methodist Church in Martin.
Bro. Randy Cooper will officiate.
