Duane "Pat" Patterson

Mr. Duane "Pat" Patterson, age 87, died Thursday, May 20, 2021, at his residence in Martin, Tennessee.

Funeral service will be Monday, May 24, 2021, 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Sams officiating.  Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday, May 23, 2021, from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home, or after 1:00 P.M. on Monday at the church.

Mr. Patterson is survived by his wife, Shirley Capps Patterson of Martin; his son, Jeff (Lynda) Patterson of Cookeville, TN; two granddaughters, Sandy (Guy) Freeman of Christiana, TN and Stephanie (Kyler) Cline of Murfreesboro, TN; three great-grandchildren, Brice Thomas, Addison Baines and Kendall Cline; daughter-in-law, Tammy Patterson of Christiana, Tennessee.

Mr. Patterson retired from Wade's Furniture Company in Martin where he became friends with many.  He was a Godly man that loved helping others and had a passion for animals.  He loved singing, loved fishing and being with his family and friends.  He was a member of First Baptist Church and he and his wife volunteered countless hours at We Care in Martin.  He was a veteran; U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harbard Franklin Patterson and Ozelle Moore Patterson; one brother, Willie Franklin Patterson.
