Emogene Epting Farmer

Ms. Emogene Farmer, age 95, and a resident of Martin, TN, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the Weakley County Nursing Home in Dresden, TN. She was born on September 23, 1929, to the late Margaret Gentry and Hoyt Epting in Baldwyn, MS.

Emogene was a dedicated member of Central Baptist Church in Martin, TN. She worked as a secretary at the Department of Human Services and was well-known for helping her husband on the farm and being actively involved in church activities. She cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchild.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Gwen) Farmer and Sheryl (Ronnie) Breeden; four grandchildren, Jonathan Farmer,Daniel Farmer, Gavin (Shalaine) Breeden and Jessica (Josh) Mashburn, and three great-grandchildren, Addie Breeden, Miles Breeden and Stella Breeden.

In addition to her parents, Emogene is preceded in death by her husband, John Farmer; one sister, Cassie Ferguson, and one brother, Richard Epting.

Services will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Murphy Funeral Home. Bro. Kylan Mann will be officiating the services. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, in the Chapel at Murphy Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 pm until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery in Martin, TN.
