Mr. H. Gene Leonard, age 75, and a resident of Dresden, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at his residence.
Gene was born on April 18, 1951, in St. Louis, MO to the late Herbert General Leonard and Catherine Miller Leonard.

Mr. Leonard, a man of the Baptist faith, was a retired tire builder from the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Union City, TN. He had an undeniable passion for aviation, completing over 1,500 skydives and even building his own airplane and ultra-light plane. His adventurous spirit didn’t stop there, he loved dirt bike racing, barefoot skiing, and riding motorcycles. Known as a true adrenaline junkie, he embraced life to the fullest and relished every thrilling moment.

He is survived by his two children, Jennifer Leonard of Martin, TN, and Jim Leonard of Martin, TN; one grandson, Justin (Chloe) Morris of Trenton, TN; one great-granddaughter, Gracelynn Morris of Trenton, TN; two sisters, Sarah (George) Morris of Beech Bluff, TN, and Cathy Leonard of Kingston Springs, TN; one brother-in-law, Philip McMinn of Martin, TN.

In addition to his parents, Herbert is preceded in death by his wife, Patsy McMinn Leonard; and one brother-n-law, Larry McMinn.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 15, at 1:00 pm in our funeral chapel.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the hour of service in our funeral chapel.
Bro. Cody Barner will officiate.
Burial to follow in Cates Cemetery.
