Howard Allen Lewis

Mr. Howard Allen Lewis, age 70, of Martin, TN, passed away on June 20, 2025, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Born on September 6, 1954, in Carbondale, PA, Howard was the son of the late John (Rod) Lewis, Sr. and Betty Swingle Lewis. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Martin, TN, and was married to his beloved wife, Donna Lynn Sigler Lewis, for 52 years. Howard was a retired production worker from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and served as a former Union Steward with the United Steel Workers Local 878. An avid hunter, Howard particularly enjoyed hunting wild game and was also a passionate gun collector. He was a wonderful father and cherished his grandchildren. Together with his wife, he opened their home to 43 foster children. 

Howard is survived by his devoted wife, Donna; his sons Dean W. (Melissa) Lewis of Dresden, TN; Adam (Kelly) Lewis of Martin, TN; Eric (Kendall Hilla) Lewis of Sharon, TN; Mark (Tina) Lewis of Martin, TN; and Casey (Hannah Burmeister) Lewis of Sharon, TN. He is also missed by his 17 grandchildren: Timothy Lewis of Sharon, TN; Zechariah Lewis of Camp Lejeune, NC; Sydney Rummell of Foley, AL; Sara Glover of Kenton, TN; Skyler Poore of Midland, TX; Dakota Holcomb of Sharon, TN; Jordyn Bessent of Martin, TN; Reece Bessent of Dresden, TN; Chance Bessent of Martin, TN; Delilah Lewis of Martin, TN; Alex Kuykendall of Martin, TN; Olivia Lynch of Martin, TN; Madison Hilla of South Canaan, PA; Mason Harper of Dresden, TN; Blake Lewis of Dresden, TN; Trent Lewis of Martin, TN; and Tenley Lewis of Martin, TN. He was also a proud great-grandfather to 10 great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings include his sister, Susan Schweinsburg of South Canaan, PA, and brothers John (Darlene) Lewis, Jr. of Waymart, PA, and Raymond (Cheryl) Lewis of South Canaan, PA. Additionally, he is survived by his sister-in-law, Cathy Lewis of South Canaan, PA, and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Lewis, and a brother-in-law, David Schweinsburg.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 26, at 3:00 PM at Central Baptist Church in Martin, TN. Visitation will occur on Thursday, June 26, from 12:00 PM until the hour of service, also at Central Baptist Church, with Bro. Kylan Mann officiating.
