Mr. I.H. "Happy" Garner, age 95, died Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at his residence.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, July 22, 2017, 12:00 Noon at Mt. Pelia Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Springer officiating. Burial will follow with military honors in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the church.
Mr. Garner is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucille Mires Garner; daughter, Stacie (Dale) Garner Webb all of Martin; four grandchildren, Rusty Garner, Matthew Webb, Christopher Webb and Andrea Webb; five great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
Mr. Garner was a U.S. Army WW II veteran. He was in the Normandy Invasion, the European Theater and served under General George Patton. After his service he owned and operated a grocery store in the Three Point community. He worked for Weakley County Motors in Martin. He was a member of Mt. Pelia Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Garner; his parents, Jeffery Garner and Lizzy Dunn Garner, his sisters, Margaret Miller, Katherine Brock, Dovie Fuller and Josephine Grimes; his brothers, Hillary Garner, Bobby Garner, Charles Garner and Emerson Garner.
