Mr. James Wesley Forsythe, age 86, and a resident of Martin, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Jackson-Madison General Hospital in Jackson, TN.

James was born in Brownsville, TN, on November 7, 1939, to the late Joe Callen Forsythe and Kate Carter Forsythe.

Mr. Forsythe was a devoted member of the Baptist faith and was an active member at The First Baptist Church in Martin, TN. He honorably served his country in the Air Force and was the esteemed owner and operator of Forsythe Cabinets and Furniture in Martin, TN. He met his beloved wife, Margaret Smith, in high school, and they were married on July 15, 1960.

James is survived in addition to his wife; one daughter, Sharon (Mike) Maloan of Martin, TN; two sons, Keith (Melissa) Forsythe of Port Neches, TX and Jim (Jennifer) Forsythe of Martin, TN; six grandchildren, Jenna (Zac) Scott, Morgan (Drew) Vernon, Dustin (Sarah) Forsythe, Brittany (Josh) Fortner, Brandon (Jodie) Forsythe, and Jacey (Adam) Lewis; eleven great-grandchildren, Lilly-Brooke Scott, Cooper Scott, Wade Vernon, Ella Vernon, Sarah Jo Forsythe, Hunter Forsythe, McKinley Fortner, Allie Fortner, Piper Fortner, Mack Lewis and Adler Forsythe; and two siblings, Gene Forsythe of Jackson, TN and Lana Lewis of Brownsville, TN.

In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by one grandchild, Jessica Forsythe; one great-grandchild, Hudson Fortner; two brothers, and one sister.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at 2:00 pm in our funeral chapel.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, beginning at 12:00 noon until the hour of services.
Dr Mike Sams will officiate, and Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery in Martin.

Pallbearers serving will be:
Zac Scott, Drew Vernon, Dustin Forsythe, Brandon Forsythe, Adam Lewis, and Josh Fortner.
