John William Dougherty Ph.D, 73, died Sunday at Volunteer Community Hospital. Private services will be conducted at a later date. He is survived by his wife Janice Lee Dougherty of Martin. He is survived by two children; John W. Dougherty, III of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Joan Lynn Loughrin of Alburquerque, New Mexico. His two grandchildren survive, Dustin and Katelyn Loughrin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Dougherty and Eula Mae Nelson Dougherty. One sister, Mary Alice (Penny) Elledge.
