Linda Lou Newsom Morris, age 70, and a resident of Martin, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Diversicare Nursing Facility in Martin, TN.

Linda was born on September 25, 1955, in Union City, TN, to the late Mary Nell Hill and Harold Lloyd Hooten.
She was of the Baptist faith, served in the U.S Army, and was the Owner of One Step Advertising in Martin, TN.

Her three children survive her; Michael Joshua Newsom of Lexington, TN, Bryan Newsom of Martin, TN, Melissa (Bobby) Thorsen of Martin, TN, eight grandchildren; Avery-Grace Newsom, Enzley Claire, Fowler Newsom, Jack Bailey Newsom, Connor Newsom, River Newsom, Drake Thorsen and Lydia Thorsen, and two siblings; Phyllis Ladd of Union City, TN and Barbara Jackson of Troy, TN.

In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by one child; Marlayna Marie Newsom, and one grandchild; Zoe-Claire Newsom.

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, beginning at 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm in our funeral chapel.
