Marjorie Louise Hazlewood

Ms. Margie Hazelwood, age 84 and a resident of Martin, TN, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Margie was born on March 23, 1941, to the late Charlie S. and Sara Lucille Fuqua Hazlewood in Martin, TN.

She was an active member of Cypress Creek Baptist Church for 73 years. She dearly loved her church, where she was always in charge of the church meals until the last couple of years. In her honor, the church named their Annual Country Ham Breakfast held each Fall the Margie Hazlewood Country Ham Breakfast. Margie was known for her love of cooking and was the former owner of El Rancho Restaurant in Martin, TN, and She also operated The Sale Barn Restaurant for many years. Margie worked for 25 years at Hubbell Lighting as a Line Lead until it closed in 2003.

She is survived by one niece, Melissa (Tony) Lipford of Martin, TN.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Caudle and Geraldine Reams.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 18, at Cypress Creek Baptist Church at 11:00 am.Burial will follow at the Eastside Cemetery in Martin. Bro. Tom Jehnzen and Bro. Terry Richie will officiate the service. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 17, 2025, in the Chapel at Murphy Funeral Home, beginning at 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
