Martha Scott

Martha Jean Pierce Scott, age 89, died Thursday, September 28, 2017, at Van Ayer Nursing and Rehab Center in Martin.

Funeral Service will be at Murphy Funeral Home Tuesday, October 3, 2017, 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Randy Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:30 A.M. on Tuesday until funeral time.

Ms. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Willis (Butsey) Williams; her parents, L.T. Pierce and Addie B. Gardiner Pierce.

Ms. Scott was Dean of Admissions at the University of Tennessee at Martin before retirement. She was a graduate of Martin High School and The University of Tennessee at Martin. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Martin.

She is survived by her sister, Rebecca Miller of Titusville, FL; her niece and nephews, Myla (Carl) Fuqua, John (Marsha) Miller both of Martin and Jeff Miller of Titisville, FL; Great nieces and nephew, Gwen Miller, Jason (Carrie) Miller and Chasidy King; Great Great nieces and nephews, MaKayla Miller, Natali King, Hayli King, Colter Wolfe and Asher Powell.
