Mary M Wallace Hill

Mrs. Mary M. Wallace Hill, age 88, of Rives, TN, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at The Waters of Union City.

Born on August 26, 1936, in Weakley County, TN, Mary was the cherished daughter of the late Jimmy and Mary Evelyn Dortch Wallace. A devoted member of Alamo Baptist Church in Rives, she shared a delightful 70 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Melvin Eugene Hill. Mary was not only a loving wife but also a dedicated beautician for 40 years, bringing joy and beauty to the #7 community of Obion County. Her passion for her work led her to co-found Anderson’s Beauty School in Union City, TN.

Mary’s spirit extended beyond her career; she was a committed commercial farmer, skillfully managing dairy and row crop farming while nurturing her family and community. Her warmth and creativity shone through in hosting well-attended Halloween parties that brought smiles to many in the #7 community, earning her the affectionate title of “Jack of all trades” among her peers.

Mary leaves behind her devoted husband, Melvin; her son, Ronald Hill of Rives, TN; her daughter, Melinda (John) Wylie of Kenton, TN; as well as five beloved grandchildren: Jayson (Summer) Hill of Gleason, TN, Mary Alice (Payton) Williams of Dresden, TN, Elizabeth (Zack) Boyarski of Paducah, KY, Abby Hill of Rives, TN, and Miranda Hill of Rives, TN. She was also a proud great-grandmother to four wonderful great-grandchildren: Blake Hill, Bronson Hill, Benny Odle, and Blaine Odle, all of Gleason, TN, along with her dear sister, Alice (Steve) Lassiter of Palmersville, TN.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Alamo Baptist Church in Rives, Tn. Visitation will be held on, Friday, June 20, 2025, starting at 11:00 am until the hour of service at Alamo Baptist Church in Rives, Tn Bro. Jeff Crabtree will officiate the service burial will follow at the Alamo Baptist Church Cemetery in Rives, Tn.
