Mr. Melvin Ward, age 70, a resident of Martin, Tennessee, passed away at his home on January 30, 2026. He was born on November 11, 1955, in Gary, Indiana, to the late Samuel Melvin Ward and Ruby Cathrine Morris Ward.

Mr. Ward was united in marriage to Ms. Stephanie Irvine Ward on July 26, 1996. He served for many years as a dedicated police officer for the City of Bradford, Tennessee, and was a passionate HAM radio operator. He spent the majority of his life in Memphis, Tennessee, before relocating to this area. He was very passionate about his Lord and Savior and served in the Memphis prison ministry in his younger years.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Irvine Ward; two daughters, Carrie Susanne Ward of Union City, Tennessee, and Hannah Elizabeth Ward of Erin, Tennessee; one son, Samuel Adam Ward of Martin, Tennessee; and two granddaughters, Trinty Wetzel and Brinklee Wetzel, both of Union City, Tennessee. He is also survived by one sister, Wilda Faye Patterson of Millington, Tennessee; three nieces, Ava Griffin, Kendra Patterson, and Shelia (Junior) Lovett; and one nephew, Mike Patterson. Mr. Ward leaves behind his loyal canine companion, Molly.

Visitation for Mr. Ward will be held on February 6, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral chapel. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
