Mrs. Faye Scates

Mrs. Faye Gardner Scates, age 89, died Monday, March 26, 2018, at her residence in Nashville, Tennessee.

Graveside Service will be Friday, March 30, 2018, 3:00 P.M. in East Side Cemetery with Rev. Larry Washburn officiating.  Family and friends assemble in the cemetery at 2:45.

Mrs. Scates was preceded in death by her husband, J. Charles Scates; her daughter, Stephanie Scates Hodges; parents, John T. Gardner and Norine Tice Gardner; sister, Dorothy Gardner; brother, Thomas Gardner.

Mrs. Scates was a travel agent and owned and operated Cruise and Tours for many years.  She formerly owned and operated the Merle Norman store in Martin.  She was a 1945 graduate of Martin High School and a member of First Baptist Church in Martin.

She is survived by her two sons, Paul Scates of Nashville and John Scates of San Francisco, CA; brother, Harvey (Linda) Gardner of White House, TN; two grandchildren, Rhiannon Langford of Frisco, TX and Nathan Hodges of Jacksonville, FL; four great-grandchildren, Blake and Ashton Langford and Colby and Braden Hodges.
