Mrs. Nancy Caroline Hastings VanVuren, age 79, and a resident of Martin, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Jackson- Madison County Hospital.

Nancy was born on February 8, 1947, in Martin, TN, to the late James Basil Allen and Laverne McDaniel Allen.
Mrs. VanVuren was a trained nurse, and longtime employee at the University of Tennessee in Martin, she loved reading, deep conversations with others, and she genuinely cared for others.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Kenneth VanVuren of Martin, TN; and one daughter, Brittany (Chad) Hastings Kalas of Paris, TN; special friend, Brenda Brockwell; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby Lynn Hastings; and two brothers, James Basil Allen Jr. and Kenneth Allen.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am until the hour of service in our funeral chapel.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 1:00 pm in our funeral chapel.
Burial to follow at West Union Cemetery.
