Nola Ann Coleman, age 83, a resident of Martin, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born on December 27, 1942, in Martin, TN, Nola was the daughter of the late James Turner and late Monette Jacobs Turner. She married the love of her life, Larry Coleman, on December 1, 1961.
Nola was a long-time member of Mt. Pelia Baptist Church where she served as the secretary. She read her bible daily and spoke about God with all who knew her. She made sure her grandchildren knew God and taught them many bible verses. Her presence and spirit will be greatly missed at Mt. Pelia Baptist Church.
Nola retired from the University of Tennessee at Martin with 33 years of service as the Secretary for the Vice Chancellor of Finance and Administration. During her years at UTM, Nola formed many great, lifelong friendships.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Larry Coleman; her only daughter Laura (Jon) Hahn of Martin, TN; her grandchildren, Kathryn (Matthew) Harriss of Medina, TN and J.C. (Brandi) Hahn of Martin, TN; and her great-grandchildren, Cole Hahn and Madi Harriss. She is also survived by her sister Sheila Turner of Martin, TN and brother Keath (Kim) Turner of Martin, TN along with many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and other extended family members.
Nola loved spending the summers tending to her garden, nurturing her flowers, and canning all the food she harvested with her husband. She and Larry shared a deep love for cooking and were well known for the many delicious dishes they would bring to gatherings. She enjoyed spending holidays and weekends with family as well.
Nola leaves behind a legacy of faith, devotion, love, and kindness. Her presence will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, beginning at 12:00 pm until the hour of service in the funeral chapel at Murphy’s Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 8, 2026. Bro Kelvin Todd will officiate. Burial to follow at Eastside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be J.C. Hahn, Matthew Harriss, Jamison Turner, Tyler Turner, Mark Fagan, and Drew Fagan.
