Paul Smith

Mr. Paul Hayes Smith, age 92, died Sunday, January 20, 2019, at St. Vincent's Riverside Center in Jacksonville, Florida.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 29, 2019, 2:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Cooper officiating.  Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday beginning at 12:00 Noon at the church until funeral time.

Pallbearers are Mike Stuart, Dr. Mike Hinds, Todd Lewis, Todd Hampton, Jason Almond and Mike Johnson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Guthrie and Kenneth Chappell.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 72 years, Bertha Lou Lamb Smith of Martin; his daughter, Paula Lamb Smith Stoer of Micanopy, FL; two grandchildren, Charles Benjamin Stoer and Jenna Elizabeth Stoer.

Mr. Smith retired from The University of Tennessee at Martin.  He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Martin where he loved attending Sunday School and loved playing softball on the men's church league.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bonnie Smith and Ruth Bradberry Smith; one brother, Dean Smith.
