Mr. Robert "Bob" Vernon Anthony, age 95, and a resident of Martin, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at his residence.

Mr. Anthony was born to the late James P. and Rosie Plunkett Anthony on May 20, 1931, in Gibson County, TN.
Bob was a painting contractor, owning his own business in Jackson and West TN for 30 years. He was a member of the Martin First Baptist Church. Bob was a life member of St. John's Masonic Lodge #332 of Jackson, TN that was raised on December 12, 1957, as well as he was a Scottish Rite 32nd degree Mason and a Schriner.

He is survived by one granddaughter, Becky H. (Cory) Brown of Columbia, TN; two great- granddaughters, Katie Beth Brown and Anna Claire Brown of Columbia, TN; one brother, Alton P. Anthony of Jackson, TN; and one son-n-law, Dr. John D. (Jane) Howard of Martin, TN.

In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years Nancy Miller Anthony; his daughter Kay A. Howard; three brothers, and three sisters.

The Kay A. Howard Scholarship Endowment Fund at The University of Tennessee Martin.

Visitation will be at 12:00 pm until the hour of service on Tuesday, August 18, at Murphy Funeral Home in our funeral chapel.
Funeral Services will be held at Murphy Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 18 at 2:00 pm in our funeral chapel.
Dr. Mike Sams will officiate.
Burial to follow at Eastside Cemetery.
