Robert L. Landrum

Robert L. Landrum, age 87, passed away on 30 July 2017 at Covenant Hospice in Panama City, Florida.

Graveside Service will be held Saturday, August 5, 2017, 11:30 A.M. in East Side Cemetery with Rev. Amanda Crice officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday at Murphy Funeral Home.

Bob, the son of Lester and Grace Landrum, was born and raised in Martin, Tennessee or as he always referred to, "the garden spot of the world." He served in the United States Army where he was stationed in South Korea during the Korean War.

Bob worked as a truck driver for over 30 years at Hygrade Food Company located in Livonia, Michigan. He was a longtime active member of the Scottish Rite Freemasons and Detroit Shriners. As a Shriner, he was involved in the Child Care Unit where he volunteered to drive a 45-foot customized silver motor coach, nicknamed Care-A-Cruiser transporting children with medical needs to the Shriner's Children Hospitals located in Chicago, Illinois and Erie, Pennsylvania. He was also an active member of Shriners "Kentucky Colonels" and participated in several parades and fundraisers.

After retiring he moved with his beloved wife Linda Paulette Landrum to Sun City West, Arizona where he resided for 16 years before his final move to Panama City, Florida.

Bob regularly enjoyed bowling, golf, and was an avid UT Martin football fan along with his Detroit Tigers baseball team.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Linda. He is survived by four children, Bob (Ana) Landrum, Gayle Landrum, Kevin (Caroline) Landrum and Brian Landrum, two grandsons, Jonathan Landrum and Shane (Erin) Landrum, his brother Sam Landrum, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
