Mrs. Sharon L. Wenz, age 80, and a resident of Martin, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City, TN. She was born on July 28, 1946, to the late, Weston Wayne Kubena and Blanche Hayes Kubena in Arkansas City, KS.

Sharon was a member of First United Methodist Church in Martin, retired Director of Child and Family Grant Programs at the University of Tennessee Martin, and an Educator in Weakley County School System. She received her undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI, and obtained her Master's Degree from the University of Tennessee Martin. Sharon enjoyed collecting various items, reading in books, spending time with grandkids and family.

Ms. Wenz is survived by her husband, Helmut Wenz of Martin, TN; three children, Kimberly (Mike) Sherrill of Paducah, KY, Kristina Wenz of Martin, TN, and Michael (Jennifer) Wenz of Martin, TN; three grandchildren, Brayden Wenz of Martin, TN, Owen Wenz of Martin, TN, and Sloane Sherrill of Paducah, KY; three siblings, Gerald Kubena of Casper, WY, Jay (Tonda) Kubena of Huntsville, AL, and Peggy Kubena of Las Vegas, NV; one sister in law, Debbie Seale- Kubena of Buda, TX.

In addition to her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Anna Katherine Wenz; and one brother, Lee Seale- Kubena.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, beginning at 10:00 am until the hour service at Murphy Funeral Home in our chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, September 5, at Murphy Funeral Home in our chapel.
Burial to follow at Eastside Cemetery.
