Shirley Alexander

Mrs. Shirley Ann Hawks Alexander, age 83, of Dresden died Saturday, August 8, 2020, at Jackson Madison County Hospital.

Graveside service will be Thursday, August 13, 2020, 11:00 A.M. in Sunset Cemetery with Rev. Don McCulley and Judge Tommy Moore officiating.  Family and friends may assemble at 10:45 A.M. in the cemetery.

Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Alexander; three sons, Patrick Permenter, Greg Permenter, William Dale Permenter; her parents, Green Hawks and Inez Davis Hawks.

Mrs. Alexander was a retired teacher for the Weakley County School System.  She was a graduate of Martin High School and The University of Tennessee at Martin.  She was a member of Dresden First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Pamela Permenter; her grandsons, Jake (Alyssa) Bynum, William Permenter, III,  Alex (Kate) Bynum, Cody (Cassie) Cunningham, Steven (Meagan) Permenter, Joseph Permenter, Michael Permenter, Matthew Permenter and Winston Permenter; great-grandchildren, Ella Bynum, Nash Bynum, Roane Bynum and Brooks Permenter.

Memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Dresden First Baptist Church.
