Mr. Thomas Edward Payne, age 62 and a resident of Martin, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, at his home.

Thomas was born in Cook County, IL on September 28, 1963, to the late Leonard Alford Payne and Martha Jane Goforth Payne.
He was an active member at Shepherds Field Baptist Church and a self-employed construction worker. Thomas loved going to auctions and going on camping trips in his camper.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Kay Payne of Martin, TN; two sons, Thomas Lynn Payne of Martin, TN and Christopher Lee (Ashleah) Payne of Dresden, TN; two grandsons, Hunter Payne of Martin, TN and Christopher Barner of Dresden, TN; five siblings, Lynn (Sherry) Payne of Martin, TN, Rebecca (Jimmy) Vandergrift of Covington, TN, Regina Payne of Friendship, TN, Jason Payne of Missouri, and Michael Payne of Florida.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 12:00 pm at Murphy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 19, beginning at 10:00 am until the hour of service at Murphy Funeral Home.
Bro. Josh Carden will officiate.
