Virginia Marcelle Suda

Virginia Marcelle Suda, age 100, of Caldwell, Texas, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Etheridge House Memory Care in Union City, TN.

Born on August 13, 1925, in Carlos, TX, Marcelle was the beloved child of James Wafer Mabry and Mary Ora McIntyre Mabry. Throughout her life, she was known for her state-winning domino skills and her love of tending her gardens in Houston and after her retirement in Caldwell, TX. She was resilient, independent, and could handle any challenge the ranch threw her way.

Marcelle is survived by her children Carolyn (Gary) Brown and William R. (Carol) Suda III; grandchildren Lorin Neikirk, Carrie (Reid) Henderson, and Jody (John) Hatler; great-grandchildren Haley (Carlos) Henderson, Ty (Marcel) Henderson, Cara Brooke Hatler, and Cambry Hatler; and one great-great-granddaughter Grace Pretzantzin.

She was preceded in death by her husband William R. Suda II and daughter, Pamela Stoltman;

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Martin First United Methodist Church. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Old Oakland Cemetery in Roane's Prairie, TX.
