Mr. Wayne Garner, age 93, and a resident of Martin, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Weakley County Nursing Home in Dresden, TN.

Wayne was born on August 18, 1932, in Weakley County, TN, to the late William Nathan Garner and Ellie Cavin Garner.
He was a retired truck driver, enjoyed being very helpful to his neighbors, talking about his career in truck driving, growing tomatoes, and most of all, Wayne loved to share his story of how he and his late wife Maria, of 53 years, met and fell in love.

Mr. Garner is survived by one daughter, Diana Lee Mikels; one son, Duane (Carol) Garner; four grandchildren, Duane T Garner, Carrie M. Catlin, LeeAnna Rogers, and Justin Mikels; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many beloved friends and neighbors.

In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Cristina Ocegueda Garner.

Private graveside services will be held at Eastside Cemetery.
