Wilfredo Hernandez

Pastor Wilfredo Hernandez, age 65, died Monday, December 3, 2018, at Jackson Madison County Hospital.

Funeral service will be Thursday, December 6, 2018, 2:00 P.M. at Martin First Baptist Church with Rev. William Burton and Dr. Mike Sams officiating.  Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday beginning at 12:00 Noon at the church until service time.

Pastor Hernandez is survived by his wife, Jovita Quijada Hernandez of Union City; his daughter, Doris Elizabeth Quijada; sons, Wilfredo Hernandez, Jr., Eliseo Hernandez and Daniel Santiago Hernandez; brothers, Edgar Antonio Hernandez, Herbert Hernandez and Jose Dagoberto Hernandez; sisters, Elda Maria Illanes and Anna Bessie Martinez.

He was a Baptist minister.  He pastored the Spanish congregation at First Baptist Church in Martin and Second Baptist Church in Union City.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Lidia Hernandez; parents, Jose Antonio Hernandez and Clara Rosa Portan Hernandez.
